The research department is a diverse array of information which includes early history of St. Albans City and Town. We have photos of early photographers. Most issues of the St. Albans Messenger, (our local newspaper) dating back to 1860's. We have all cemetery records of Franklin, Addison and Chittenden County. There is a biography file of local people, a subject file, and many miscellaneous files on subjects too numerous to list.
The library which is in the research department is well organized and has a wealth of information. The care given to this research department is something we are proud of and is decidedly one of the best kept secrets of our museum. It is the place to go if you want to get lost in our local history. A friendly staff is available to help visitors locate their information. A donation is required for use of the room.
